In a suburb that has a laid-back vibe but is secretly (or not so secretly) buzzing with activity and trendy eateries, you will find Bills – a quintessential Sydney destination with a reputable reputation for a bite to eat, at all times of the day.
For our purposes, we visited for brunch mid-week and as there was plenty of seating indoor and outside, we only waited five minutes for a table. We thought the interior space was very light and bright, with its large, road facing windows and a relatively open kitchen that lent its liveliness to the atmosphere of the restaurant.
Drinks-wise, along with our necessary morning coffees, we sipped at a purple “Sunrise” smoothie of berries, hibiscus tea and coconut ($9.50) and a “Bills Greens” juice made from spinach, cucumber, celery, green apple, ginger, chia and coconut ($9.50). Both were decently sized and tasty.
In regard to food, we felt compelled to order some Bills classics, which included the infamous ricotta hotcakes with banana ($22), which were a dreamy, pillowy texture and smothered in oozy, honeycomb butter and maple syrup. Along with this, we had the corn fritters with roast tomato, spinach, bacon and avocado salsa ($27) that were nicely crisped and sweet, and the scrambled organic eggs and sourdough toast ($14.50).
Claudia has also visited for dinner and fortunately chose the amazing pavlova for dessert (definitely of kiwi origin!), which we’ve included a photo of below.
Overall, we think Bills is a great spot to visit if you want a quality experience and meals that will keep you satisfied.
