Situated a stone’s throw away from Oxford street and within the courtyard of a blush-coloured corner site, Luxe Woollahra (in Sydney), is somewhere you should head if you’re looking for aesthetic surroundings and a classic and tasty menu, topped off with solid service.
What keeps us going back to this spot is the great set-up. The outdoor seating area has lots of plush pillows, plants and bright-turquoise tables, while indoors there is a large shared table and the vibe is a little more subdued, with soft, marble coloured surroundings.
In regard to the food, there are plenty of options for breakfast and lunch, from toast and cereal, to an array of eggs, salads and sides. They also have the more stomach-filling options of burgers and fresh sandwiches, for those looking for something a little heartier.
On this particular visit, and after some deliberation, Claudia ordered a salmon and kale salad with pomegranate and lentils, while I had the herb scrambled eggs with avo mash and petuna smoked salmon. I thought the eggs were cooked well, but that the avo mash was a little disappointing. The coffees were good and they were happy to cater to Claudia’s request for almond milk.
Our experience with the staff has always been positive (and they’re all rather cute, which helps).
We think Luxe is ideal for catching up with girlfriends or family, when you just want to chill over coffee and tasty food. Recommend putting this on your list!
